The presidential inauguration date is set by law. The Twentieth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads, “The terms of the President and the Vice President shall end at noon on the 20th day of January, and the terms of Senators and Representatives at noon on the 3d day of January, of the years in which such terms would have ended if this article had not been ratified; and the terms of their successors shall then begin.”
The 60th presidential inauguration is still set to occur on January 20th, 2025. The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC) website indicates that the 60th Inaugural Ceremonies will be held at the West Front of the U.S. Capitol on January 20th, 2025.
The post mentions a “Brunson Decision” as its evidence for Trump’s early return to the White House. The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) has not made this decision. In 2023, SCOTUS denied to hear this case.
