A post made on X claims President-elect Donald Trump left Mar-a-Lago in an ambulance.

Verdict: False

The ambulances were part of Vice President-elect J.D. Vance’s motorcade. A Secret Service spokesperson clarified that the Secret Service has not directed any medical transports from Mar-a-Lago.

Fact Check:

Social media users are claiming that Trump left Mar-a-Lago in an ambulance. The caption reads, “now trump in an ambulance out of mar a lago with vans full of secret service.”

The claim is false. There is no evidence to show Trump left Mar-a-Lago in an ambulance. The ambulances were part of Vice President-elect J.D. Vance’s motorcade, which are used as precautionary measures.(RELATED: Will Trump Return To The White House Before January 20, 2025?)

The origin appears to be a tweet from The Independent’s White House correspondent, Andrew Feinberg, about ambulances leaving Mar-a-Lago, though Feinberg did not claim that Trump was in an ambulance. A Secret Service spokesperson made a post on X that clarifies the Secret Service had not directed any medical transports from Mar-a-Lago.

“Andrew we are not tracking any Secret Service directed medical transports from Mar-a-Lago and from our personnel on the ground, there are no issues or concerns with any Secret Service protectees on property. If there is an ambulance it may be an unrelated issue,” the spokesperson tweeted.

Feinberg later made a post on X clarifying that the ambulances were part of Vance’s motorcade.

“CALM DOWN, PEOPLE. Per a transition source and @SecretService, the ambulances were part of Vice President-elect @JDVance’s motorcade. False alarm. Go about your business.”

The Trump transition team directed Check Your Fact to a tweet from Steven Cheung, the incoming admin’s communications director, which called Feinberg a “dummy.”

“The press has set up a fake, unofficial ‘pool’ because they want to feel important about themselves. In this case, some idiot at CBS overreacted and set off the fire alarm for no reason thinking they were going to get the scoop of a lifetime. Fucking dummy,” Cheung tweeted.

Other posts with similar claims have been made on X. One post reads, “🚨#BREAKING: Two ambulances along with 20-25 vehicles that are reportedly appeared full of Secret Service have left Mar-a-Lago.” The owner of the X account that made this post followed-up with a second post that reads, “🚨#UPDATE: It now appears to a false alarm at the ambulances and Secret Service vehicles seen driving around Mar-a-Lago were simply part of JD Vance’s motorcade.”

USA Today has also debunked this claim.
