Bluesky CEO Jay Graber said the platform is “billionaire proof” during a recent appearance on CNBC’s “Money Movers,” according to the outlet. Graber also said that the platform is “open source” via the same appearance, the outlet indicated.

The Threads post, which has received over 16,000 likes as of writing, claims 10 major companies, including Disney, have stopped posting on X as of November 2024.

The claim is misleading. A comment shared on the post claims only IBM, CBS, and Colbert have stopped posting on X with their activity on the platform ending in 2023. “Spreading misinformation and insulting the intelligence of the American public is what cost the left this election,” the comment adds. Check Your Fact reviewed the X accounts belonging to each of the 10 major companies named in the Threads post and found recent posts, including reposts made on the platform by Disney, Marvel, Comcast, Warner Bros., Lionsgate, Paramount, Sony Pictures, and CBS. The only two accounts that appear to have stopped using X are IBM and The Colbert Show, with their last activity on the platform being in late 2023.

In addition, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On Nov. 21, Reuters reported the claim was misleading, also indicating that only IBM and The Colbert Show have stopped posting on X, with their last activity being in 2023.

Bluesky, a social media application launched by former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, may become a possible rival to X, according to ABC News. The platform has seen a growth of 20 million users following the 2024 election, the outlet reported.
