A post on Facebook claims that pop star Beyoncé will be boycotting any red states on her tour, claiming “This isn’t my America.”

Verdict: False

There is no proof Beyoncé has planned to cut performances or has done so as of publication.

Fact Check:

Celebrities such as Ellen Degeneres have left the U.S. following the election of Donald Trump as president. Other prominent figures such as Joy Reid and Don Lemon have stopped posting on X, claiming that owner Elon Musk’s support of Donald Trump goes against their principles.

A post on Facebook claims that singer Beyonce is doing her own form of revenge by refusing to perform in “red states,” otherwise known as states whose Electoral College votes went to Donald Trump. The post states that she said “I won’t perform in these states” as part of her reasoning.

There is no proof that she has said this, however. A Google search also turns up no information that proves this. (RELATED: Is Joy Reid Moving To London Following Donald Trump’s Victory?)

The pop star campaigned for sitting Vice President Kamala Harris on the campaign trail, however she never mentioned what she would do if Harris lost. There are no posts on her social media accounts that claim she is boycotting red states at any point, either.

As of November 17, Beyonce is still scheduled to be performing the halftime show at the NFL’s first-ever Christmas game which will be in Houston this year. Donald Trump won all 40 of Texas’ Electoral Votes in 2024. This story was first fact-checked by Snopes.
