Notre Dame cathedral held its first service in years with 2,500 in attendance, The New York Times reported. The cathedral’s renovations were recently finished after a 2019 fire caused hundreds of million of dollars of damage, according to the outlet.
A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, alleges that Macron was arrested. The post shared a photo of Macron with a small red pin on his jacket.
The caption reads, “MACRON HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR TREASON AND TRAFFICKING OF MINORS CARRIED OUT IN PARIS IN THE CAPITAL OF FRANCE A FEW MINUTES AGO BY THE MILITARY SECRETLY WITHOUT ANYONE KNOWING THIS HAS HAPPENED TODAY THIS WEEKEND, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2024 AT 2 AND 30 MINUTES OF THE AFTERNOON.”
The claim is inaccurate. He was seen recently welcoming President-elect Donald Trump to Paris two days ago, according to NPR.
There is no such comment from Macron on this claim on his social media account. Telegram CEO Pavel Durov was arrested in Paris in August, AP News reported. Macron said Durov’s arrest was not political, it was part of an independent investigation, according to another article from the outlet. (RELATED: No Mike Pence Was Not Arrested By Special Forces)
