Firefighters have made progress on containing the fires affecting the Los Angeles area as Friday brought better weather conditions, according to USA Today. Despite the improvement, thousands of evacuees were warned to stay away for at least another week, the outlet reported.
An X video purports to show firefighters saving dogs from the current California fires. The video shows firefighters putting dogs in the bed of a pickup truck as flames and smoke can be seen in the background.
“California firemen rescue dogs from the fires…” the caption reads. It includes several hashtags at the end including #losangeles, #PacificPalisades and #california, implying that it depicts the current fires impacting the Los Angeles area. This video is miscaptioned, however. It was originally posted in July 2022 by FOX40 reporter Eytan Wallace and shared by CAL FIRE’s public information officer (PIO) account. It was also posted to Facebook by Wallace.
