There was no red moon. The image is from February 2024.
Fact Check:
Social media users are claiming that there was a red moon on the eve of Trump’s inauguration. One user wrote, “Update: Red Moon on the eve of the Inauguration. In various cultures, a red moon has been interpreted as an omen. In ancient Mesopotamia, it was seen as a ‘threat to the king’s life.'”
This claim is false. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found that the image is from February 2024 and is not related to Trump’s inauguration.

Furthermore, Check Your Fact did not observe any red moon in the sky on Jan. 19 in the Washington D.C. area. There has been rain and snow on this day as well.
