Verdict: False
Trump has not publicly referenced the claim, and there is no other evidence supporting the claim.
Fact Check:
Trump signed an executive order Thursday to declassify any remaining files related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., according to CBS News. Trump promised to release the remaining JFK assassination files during his first term as president in 2017, the outlet reported.
The X image, which has garnered over 200,000 views as of writing, claims Trump signed an executive order stopping all new funds to the UNRWA.
“President Trump Signs Executive Order Stopping All New Funds To Terror-Related UNRWA,” text superimposed on the image reads. The image shows Trump holding up a newly signed executive order that appears to bear the UNRWA logo.
“Fantastic news – U.S. donations comprised 30% of UNRWA’s yearly budget, simply mind blowing taxpayer money was funding this embarrassment of an organization,” the image’s caption reads.
The claim is false. The purported executive order is not included in Trump’s list of recent “Presidential Actions” via the White House’s website. Likewise, Trump does not appear to have publicly mentioned the purported executive order aimed at the UNRWA via his TRUTH Social account or his verified social media accounts. In addition, the purported executive order was not mentioned during Inauguration Day 2025 signing ceremonies at Capital One Arena and in the Oval Office. The UNRWA has not publicly commented on the claim, either.
Furthermore, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On Jan. 23, Misbar debunked the claim, indicating the X image is fake.
Although the claim is false, Trump did recently sign an executive order that temporarily suspends all U.S. foreign assistance programs pending 90-day reviews to “determine whether they are aligned with his policy goals,” according to The Associated Press.
