Social media users are claiming to show an image of a Latino Trump supporter being arrested by ICE agents. One user wrote, “Make stupid decisions and you could win stupid prizes! #TrumpisaNationalDisgrace #TrumpIsRacist.”
This claim is false. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found that the image has been published since 2019. The original image shows there is no political messaging on the shirt of the man being arrested by ICE.
The image has been published by outlets such as the Guardian and NPR. The image description on NPR states the image was taken in 2018.
“Here, special agents with Homeland Security Investigations lead a worker away from a workplace raid in Ohio in 2018, part of a string of such operations during the Trump administration,” reads part of the image description.
