An image shared on X claims to show President Donald Trump posting on Truth Social about actress Selena Gomez’s recent Instagram post.

Verdict: False

There is no evidence that Trump posted this. The origin appears to be from a meme account.

Fact Check:

Gomez posted a video on Instagram, where she cried about illegal immigrants being rounded up by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to The New York Times. She later deleted the video after severe backlash, the outlet reported.

Social media users are claiming that Trump posted about Gomez’s video. Trump’s alleged statement partially reads, “Selena Gomez, best known as the third amigo on that Murder Mystery Show that Chevy Chase wouldn’t touch…”

This claim is false. If he had done so, media outlets would have covered it, yet none have. A wider internet search also did not yield any results. (RELATED: No, Video Does Not Show Trump Signing Executive Order On Crypto)

Check Your Fact also reviewed Trump’s Truth Social profile. This search did not yield any results for the alleged Truth Social post.

The origin appears to be from a meme account. The account describes itself as a “Universally-beloved meme artisan.” PolitiFact also debunked this claim.
