FACT CHECK: Have Five FBI Supervisors Been Sent To Guantanamo Bay?
A post shared on Facebook claims five Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) supervisors arrived at Guantanamo Bay following their recent alleged arrests.

The claim is false and originally stems from a Feb. 2 article published on the satire site “Real Raw News.” A spokesperson for the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps denied the claim’s validity in an email to Check Your Fact.

David Sundberg, the assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Washington, D.C. field office, is preparing to leave the bureau amid a purge of top executives, according to NBC News. Sundberg was put in charge of the bureau’s D.C. field office in 2022, the outlet reported.
Facebook post claims five FBI supervisors arrived at Guantanamo Bay following their recent alleged arrests. According to the same post, the five FBI supervisors, including Sundberg, were purportedly involved in the August 2022 raid on President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.
The claim is false and originally stems from a Feb. 2 article published on the satire site “Real Raw News.” A “Disclaimer” included on the site’s “About Us” page indicates its content is not meant to be taken literally. “Information on this website is for informational and educational and entertainment purposes. This website contains humor, parody, and satire. We have included this disclaimer for our protection, on the advice [of] legal counsel,” the disclaimer reads. Likewise, the FBI does not appear to have issued a press release or a social media statement responding to the claim. Trump has not publicly commented on the claim via his personal or government X accounts, his TRUTH Social account, or his verified social media accounts. Navy JAG has not referenced the claim either.
In addition, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim.
Furthermore, Patricia Babb, a spokesperson for Navy JAG, denied the claim’s validity in an email to Check Your Fact.
“This is not true,” Babb said of the claim.
