A post shared on X claims the federal government arrested a judge who was overseeing Department of Government Efficiency lawsuits.

Verdict: False

There is no evidence for this claim. The account that shared the account is known for fake news.

Fact Check:

Social media users are claiming that the judge who oversees DOGE lawsuists, Paul Engelmayer, was arrested by the military. One user wrote,”Breaking: The military has just arrested the Obama-appointed judge, Paul Engelmayer, who tried to Block DOGE from exposing fraud, waste, and corruption…The charge, sources say, is treason.”

This claim is false. If Engelmayer had been arrested by the military, media outlets would have covered it, yet none have. A wider internet search also did not yield any results for this claim. (RELATED: Facebook Post Falsely Claims Alejandro Mayorkas Was Executed At Guantanamo Bay)

The claim comes from Real Raw News. A “Disclaimer” included on the site’s “About Us” page indicates it is a satirical and fake news website.

“Information on this website is for informational and educational and entertainment purposes. This website contains humor, parody, and satire. We have included this disclaimer for our protection, on the advice [of] legal counsel,” the disclaimer reads.
