A post shared on X claims that Brittany Mahomes said that the referees didn’t protect her husband, NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes, from getting tackled.

Verdict: False

There is no evidence for this claim. It appears to be satirical in origin.

Fact Check:

Patrick Mahomes was sacked six times during the Super Bowl, where he and the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, according to The Associated Press.

Social media users are claiming that Mahomes said that referees did not protect her husband, Patrick Mahomes, from being tackled. She is alleged to have said that the “refs did not nothing when Patrick was tackled like an animal.”

There is no evidence for this claim. If she had said that, media outlets would have covered it, yet none have. A wider internet search also did not yield any results for this claim.

Mahomes only public comment appears to be resharing an Instagram post, according to Page Six. The Instagram post did not mention the referees refusing to protect Mahomes from being tackled. (RELATED: No, China Did Not Raise Tariffs On US By 75%)

The origin of this claim comes from a Facebook page that describes itself as “A Combination Of Real News And Sarcastic Memes and Videos.”
