A post shared on X claims musician Dolly Parton said, “I want to send our love and hope to our brothers and sister in Ukraine” in 2025.

Verdict: Misleading

The comment is from 2022, not 2025.

Fact Check:

Social media users are claiming that Parton made a pro-Ukraine comment in 2025. One user wrote, “Dolly Parton: ‘I don’t want to be political…but I want to send our love and hope to our brothers and sisters in Ukraine.'”

This claim is misleading. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found that the comment is from the March 7, 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards. Parton made these comments just weeks after Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022.

“Dolly Parton hosted the 2022 ACM Awards this year alongside co-hosts Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett. During the show’s open, the country superstar said that while she did not want to get too political, she did want to dedicate the award show to the people of Ukraine amid Russia’s invasion of the country,” reads the video description.

Her old speech went viral on social media in 2025, according to the Hindustan Times.
