FACT CHECK: No, Trump Did Not Make A Truth Social Post About Cardano Cryptocurrency

Fact Check:
On March 3, Trump announced that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. plans to invest $100 billion in the United States, according to The Associated Press. The company’s CEO, C.C. Wei, said the investment will be used for three chip manufacturing plants and two packaging facilities in Arizona, the outlet reported.
The X image, viewed over 60,000 times as of writing, purports to show a TRUTH Social post from Trump about Cardano cryptocurrency. “Cardano is the future of America,” the purported post attributed to Trump reads. “NO FREAKING WAY,” the image’s caption follows.
The claim is false. The image was shared by Cardano trading account @TapTools, who admitted it was a meme in a subsequent post. “Note to all the crybabies: It’s a meme. Relax,” the account wrote.
Likewise, Check Your Fact did not find the purported remark on Trump’s TRUTH Social account, his personal or government X accounts, or his verified social media accounts. The purported remark also does not appear on the White House’s website or its verified X account @WhiteHouse.
In addition, Check Your Fact did not find any credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On March 4, Lead Stories debunked the claim, tracing its origin to @TapTools on X.
Although the claim is false, Trump recently announced the creation of a strategic crypto reserve for the U.S. that includes Cardano’s ADA, according to CNBC. Trump will also host the first White House Crypto Summit on March 7, the outlet reported.
