The Scofield Bible is a study bible that uses the King James Version and was created by a Civil War veteran, according to Transcend Media Service. The Rothschild Family does not appear to have funded its initial publication.

Instead, someone named “Frowde coordinated publication of The Scofield Reference Bible with John Armstrong in New York, head of the American branch of the Oxford Press. And so, the publication of Scofield’s Bible by the prestigious Oxford University Press was secured,” per the website.

D. Jean Rushing, in a master’s thesis for East Tennessee University, wrote that the Scofield Bible was funded in part by John T. Pirie and Alwyn Ball, Jr., two non-Jews.

“Though there were others in the conference circuit that contributed financially, Dr. Scofield acknowledged that Ball and Pirie ‘made it possible for me to prepare The Bible Study Bible,'” Rushing writes.

The Scofield Bible “promoted dispensationalism, the belief that between creation and the final judgment there would be seven distinct eras of God’s dealing with man and that these eras are a framework for synthesizing the message of the Bible,” according to Wikipedia.
