A post shared on Facebook claims that European leaders took off their suit jackets in support of Ukraine.

Verdict: False

The image has been photoshopped.

Fact Check:

Social media users are claiming that European leaders took off their suit jackets in support of Ukraine. One user wrote, “European leaders taking off their jackets in a united show of support for President Zelenskyy.”

This claim is false. No credible media outlets have reported this. A wider internet search also did not yield any results for this claim. (RELATED: No, Trump Did Not Make A Truth Social Post About Annexing Greenland And Alaska)

Video taken by Sky News shows the leaders posing for a photo but does not show them taking off their jackets. The video shows them gathering for a “family photo.”

“Political leaders have gathered in the lower hall of Lancaster House for a “family photo” as they discuss Europe’s defence and security. The group of leaders joined by Sir Keir Starmer, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, stood for a photograph at the bottom of a grand staircase in front of a spread of national flags,” reads the video description.

The image has, therefore, been photoshopped to show them taking their jackets off. Lead Stories also debunked the claim.
