Verdict: False

The image originally stems from an August 2023 Daily Mail article, meaning it predates the current Israel-Hamas conflict.

Fact Check:

Biden abruptly ended a Monday speech on the economy to head to the Situation Room, according to Newsweek. While many theories about Biden’s abrupt departure circulated online, a White House spokesperson later told the outlet he had been called into “a regularly scheduled briefing on the latest developments in Israel and Gaza.”

“Biden hits the beach with Middle East, Congress in chaos,” text below the image of the current Democratic President and First Lady reads. The post, shared by the rapper 50 Cent, is captioned, “hey Joe get the fvck up, we in trouble man!” and has received over 200,000 likes as of writing.

The image of the Bidens lying on the beach is not linked to the current Israel-Hamas conflict, however. The image originally stems from an August 2023 Daily Mail article covering the Bidens’ Delaware vacation amid former President Donald Trump’s arraignment in connection with allegations he attempted to overturn the results of the 2020 election as well as accusations of abuse of power aimed at Biden’s son, Hunter by his former business partner Devon Archer.

Likewise, the claim is neither referenced on the White House’s website nor its verified social media accounts. Biden also has not publicly commented on the claim via his personal or government X accounts. (RELATED: Viral X Video Claims Joe Biden Said He Was Born In Israel)

Although the image predates the current Israel-Hamas conflict, the current President and First Lady recently traveled to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where they were seen walking on the beach, a video from Newsweek shows. A reporter asked Biden about American hostages being held by Hamas, but he did not answer the question, the outlet indicated.

According to Lead Stories, a pool report from the White House press corps confirmed the Bidens were in Rehoboth Beach.
