A viral post shared on Facebook claims 2024 Democratic vice presidential nominee and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s brother Jeff described him as the “neighborhood bully.”

Verdict: False

The claim is false and originally stems from a satirical Facebook page. There is no evidence to support the claim.

Fact Check:

Walz was booed by fans when he attended a Sept. 28 Minnesota-Michigan game, according to Fox News. One fan told Walz to “get out of here,” the outlet reported.

The Facebook post, which has received over 40,000 likes as of writing, claims Jeff Walz described his brother Tim Walz as the “neighborhood bully.” “Tim Walz’s Brother Jeff Says He Was the Neighborhood Bully: ‘Everyone Hated Tim,'” the post, which features side-by-side photos of the two brothers, reads. The post does not provide a source to support its claim.

The claim is false and was originally shared on Facebook by America’s Last Line of Defense (ALLOD), a page that describes itself as satirical. The post’s comment section features a link to an article repeating the claim shared on the website, “The Dunning-Kruger Times.” According to the website’s “About Us” page, it is a “subsidiary of the ‘America’s Last Line of Defense’ network of parody, satire, and tomfoolery.”

Likewise, Check Your Fact did not find the claim referenced on Walz’s website or his verified social media accounts. (RELATED: Did CNN Conceal The Full Transcript From Its Interview With Kamala Harris And Tim Walz?)

In addition, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. In fact, the opposite is true. On Sept. 27, Snopes reported the claim was false. The outlet also traced the claim to the ALLOD Facebook page and The Dunning-Kruger Times website.

Check Your Fact has contacted Walz’s office for comment.
