A post shared on Facebook purports National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director Dr. Anthony Fauci broke down in tears after Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan revealed “shocking” documents.

The Facebook video, liked 17,000 times, purports Fauci broke down after Jordan reveals documents implicating him. “HOT! Fauci BREAKS DOWN In TEARS As Sen Jim Jordan REVEALS Shocking Documents IMPLICATING Him,” the video’s caption reads.

The claim is false. There are no credible news reports suggesting the supposed exchange between Fauci and Jordan occurred. Likewise, neither the NIAID nor Jordan have mentioned the claim via their respective websites or verified social media accounts.

The video’s caption is inaccurate. The over 16-minute video features two clips of House members holding subcommittee hearings on COVID-19.

In the first clip, Jordan and his Republican colleagues discuss the origin of the COVID-19 virus with a team of scientists, including former Assistant Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services Dr. Brett Giroir. Jordan questions Giroir on the alleged gain-of-function research associated with the virus.

In the second clip, Fauci testifies about ending pandemic measures implemented during COVID-19.
