The Facebook post purports Princess Diana is alive. The post shared a video of a woman claiming to have evidence that Diana is alive.
She says, “I think Diana is still alive, she possibly could be with Trump, I don’t know. She talks in code just like Trump.” She claims that Diana left clues about her disappearance in interviews that she gave.
The claim is inaccurate. There is no credible news report that suggests there is any evidence that Diana is alive. Diana died in 1997 in a car crash in Paris as reported by the Smithsonian. The post refers to an interview Diana did in 1995 with BBC, archived with PBS, and takes some lines out of context. (RELATED: X Post Makes False Claim About UN, Trucks Entering Gaza Strip)
The post plays audio of Diana saying, “I did a lot of work, well, underground.” The post also used a part of the interview when Diana said, “They hadn’t expected that. And I’m a great believer that you should always confuse the enemy.” These quotes are taken out of context when she was discussing the media and the humanitarian work that he was doing at the time.
