Verdict: False
The video shows a CGI clip and clips from other storms.
Fact Check:
Milton hit Florida on Wednesday night with Governor Ron DeSantis stating that 19 tornadoes were reported by later that night, Reuters reported. According to the report, 45 tornadoes later hit and millions were left without power due to the storm.
A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, allegedly shows several clips from the recent hurricane that hit Florida. The first clip shows a large tornado in the sky before other clips show more tornadoes and damage.
The caption reads, “I have lived in Florida for thirty six years and never seen anything like this. Have you?”
The claim is inaccurate. The first clip was a part of a computer generated image video uploaded to a YouTube channel that posts CGI in July, 2024. The description notes that the location of this “event” is in “Uncanny Valley.”
The second clip was posted on Instagram in 2023. The caption claims the footage is from Kansas.

The fourth clip was uploaded to YouTube in 2022. The description claims the tornado was in Georgia.
The fifth clip was shared on TikTok in 2023. The caption does not provide the location.
