A post shared on X claims Republican Ohio Attorney General Dave Post voted for Issue One in the 2024 general election.

Verdict: False

Yost voted for Issue One in 2023, which was a different measure entirely.

Fact Check:

Ohioans are voting on Issue One, which is a”redistricting proposal that would remove politicians from the process in favor of a citizen commission,” according to the Ohio Capital Journal.

Social media users are claiming that Yost voted for Issue One. One user wrote,”Never thought @DaveYostOH would choose people over politicians, but I’ll take it! YES on Issue 1!”

This claim is false. Yost voted for Issue One in August 2023, which was a different measure. Issue One in August 2023 was about making it harder for Ohioans to change the Ohio Constitution through voter referendums, according to NPR.

Yost also denied that he had voted for Issue One in a Nov. 5 X post. (RELATED: Facebook Video Does Not Show ‘Ballot Mule’ In Lincoln, Nebraska)

“Well, how fun… a little home-state disinformation. As will surprise no one, I did NOT vote ‘Yes’ on Issue One. The tweet screenshot below is from August 2023, not 2024. Different Issue One…” reads part of the tweet.
