Social media users are claiming that Zelenskyy bought a French ski resort with foreign tax dollars.

“Zelensky has purchased €88 million hotel in Courchevel ski resort in France. Courchevel is known to be wildly popular with billionaires, Hollywood celebrities and British royals. In case you were wondering how your tax dollars are being spent,” reads one user’s post.

There is no evidence for this claim. If Zelenskyy had bought any French hotel, media outlets would have covered it, yet one have. The hotel that the video claims he bought is the Palace des Neiges, which is owned by Monte-Carlo Societe des Bains de Mer, according to DW. A spokesperson for MCSBM told DW the claim was false.

“Palace des Neiges was acquired by Monte-Carlo Societe des Bains de Mer group in October 2023. The SBM group is currently renovating the hotel, with a view to opening in December 2026, as owner and operator,” a spokesperson told DW. (RELATED: No, Image Doesn’t Show Assad In Moscow)

The origin of the claim is from a website that does not belong to the hotel or its owners. The fake website was registered in 2024. The actual hotel’s website was registered in 2007.
