A video shared on Facebook claims to show an unidentified flying object (UFO) in Germany.

The video was created using computer-generated imagery (CGI). It has been debunked since 2021.

“MASSIVE UAP SIGHTING OVER SELVA NEGRA, GERMANY!! You won’t believe this!!  Back in June 2024, a HUGE UAP was spotted over Selva Negra (Black Forest), Alemania – and it left witnesses STUNNED!  Reports describe a gigantic craft hovering silently, flashing strange lights, and then VANISHING without a trace! What was this?? Advanced tech? Alien visitors? This sighting is TOO CRAZY to ignore!!  Germany’s skies might be hiding some deep mysteries!” one user wrote. 

The original was shared by a VFX artist, according to a YouTube video by Mick West, the founder of metabunk.org. The original video has since been deleted, but West says that the original uploader said the video was “just a test.”

“This video was created by a 3D artist who posts on YouTube as ‘VFX’. It’s been re-uploaded a few times as an actual UFO video, and fooled a few people – even people commenting on VFX’s channel! Looking at the repeating textures in the road shows that it’s a CGI fake,” reads part of West’s YouTube video description.
