There is no evidence for this claim.

Fact Check:

Social media users are claiming that Zelenskyy bought a French company through his offshore company, Maltex. (RELATED: Did Harper Collins Omit 64,575 Words In The NIV And ESV Versions?)

“Just weeks before the spectacle inside the Oval Office, Ukraine’s President Zelensky used his offshore company Maltex to purchase Milleis Banque, one of the biggest private equity banks in France, for €1.2 billion,” reads one user’s post.

This claim is false. If Zelenskyy had bought Milleis Banque, media outlets would have covered it, yet none have. A wider internet search also did not yield any results for this claim.

Check Your Fact also reviewed Milleis Banque’s website, which did not state it was bought by Maltex. The Pandora Papers showed that Zelenskyy and his wife owned a quarter of Maltex through a shell company called Film Heritage, according to the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project.

The video contains voice cloning, according to Lead Stories. The origin of the claim appears to be from a Russian Telegram channel, per the outlet.
