Fact Check:

SpaceX recently test launched the largest rocket ever built, hoping to eventually send the first human being to Mars, The Guardian reported. The rocket exploded in air but Musk called it an “an exciting test launch,” and that his team “learned a lot for the next test.”

The Twitter post claims Musk recently appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast and stated his belief in the flat Earth theory. The Twitter post allegedly shows a conversation between podcaster Joe Rogan and Musk. “Elon Musk trying to break the firmament,” text over the video reads. “Elon is a Flat Earther.”

There is no credible news report that suggests that Musk believes this. Based on the setting of the clip it is clear that the video is from a longer conversation for 2021 on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. At no point during the three-hour interview does Musk make this claim. The video and audio of the clip do not match, indicating that this clip has been digitally altered. (RELATED: Did Hillary Clinton Endorse Ron DeSantis For President?)

There have been other claims of Musk promoting the flat earth theory. One Twitter user claimed Musk tweeted out the theory, but no such tweet could be found.

This is not the first time Musk has been at the center of misinformation. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim Twitter included hate based on Twitter Blue subscription as discrimination.
