An image shared on Twitter purports to show a man wearing a T-shirt that reads, “Trans kids are sexy.”

Verdict: False

The image is digitally altered. In the original image, which has been published in the Desert Sun, the man is wearing a plain white T-shirt.

Fact Check:

The Louisiana Senate passed a bill banning gender-affirming care for transgender youths June 5, according to The Associated Press. The bill passed with a “wide enough-margin to override a [potential] veto” from the state’s Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards, Fox News reported.

“We’re going to need more woodchippers,” the Twitter post, viewed 26,000 times, purports. The post features the image of a man wearing a T-shirt that reads, “Trans kids are sexy.”

The image is digitally altered. In the original image, which has been published in the Desert Sun, the man is wearing a plain white T-shirt. The image appears in a November 2021 article from the outlet featuring a photo gallery of still shots captured at the Palm Springs LGBTQ+ Pride Parade.

“The Desert Flaggers perform along Palm Canyon Drive during the Palm Springs Pride Parade in downtown Palm Springs, Calif., on November 7, 2021,” the original image’s caption reads. The man wearing the plain white T-shirt can be seen carrying rainbow flags.
In a separate Twitter post from @WokeArchive, the digitally altered photo and the original image posted in the Desert Sun article appear side by side. The user who runs the account apologized for reposting the digitally altered image, indicating they were now aware it was fake.
“I apologize for unknowingly reposting a photoshopped picture of a man wearing this shirt. It is not an accurate depiction of him or his character,” the social media user said via the post.

Although the image is digitally altered, T-shirts with the phrase “Trans kids are sexy” can be purchased online. (RELATED: Does Image Shared On Social Media Show Jeffrey Epstein With The Island Boys?)
This is not the first time a digitally altered image has circulated online. Check Your Fact previously debunked a social media post purporting to show former New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie with an exaggerated body size.
